Familiar by design
The menus and controls are where you expect them, and rbxport uses your existing rekordbox library. Library Protection is on by default, so you can try the app without changing that library.
Leave Library Protection on, export a spare USB, and test it in a player.
Multiple USB export
Export to multiple USB drives at once. Max Compatibility writes FLAC and M4A tracks as WAV on the USB for older CDJs. Turn on Auto Eject, and each drive ejects when it’s ready.
Beatgrid detection
rbxport’s analysis is tuned for electronic music. It fixes familiar rekordbox annoyances: grids that land one beat off, drum & bass detected at half tempo, and slight grid offsets when the first kick starts right at the beginning of the file. It also detects tempo changes mid-track.
Tuned on hundreds of Beatport tracks, custom DJ edits, and hand-checked grids.
Improved key detection
A detected key can look right and sound wrong in the mix. When the analysis is too close to call, rbxport uses a few rules tuned for dance music: it favors minor over major when the two are tied, since minor keys are more common in the genre. If the key is still unclear, it focuses on the first and last 24 bars—the sections DJs are most likely to blend.
Comprehensive backup
The database is only part of your library. Waveforms, analysis data, artwork, and other supporting files need backing up too. rbxport gathers all of it except the music files themselves. A separate restore utility brings it back when you need it.
LINK EXPORT
rbxport’s LINK EXPORT uses the full gigabit Ethernet connection. During testing on a CDJ-3000, playlist scrolling, searching, tagging, and track loading were all faster than USB.
Closer inspection
Zoom closer to place a grid precisely. Preview a song at another tempo or in another key before you try it in the mix, just as it will sound on a CDJ.
Modern exports, older hardware
Export OneLibrary USBs for AlphaTheta’s latest hardware without replacing a perfectly good computer. During testing, rbxport ran on a 2017 Windows machine with 16 GB of RAM.
rbxport is built for DJs who play from USB sticks or PRO DJ LINK. If you perform from your laptop, you can use rbxport to manage your playlists, but you’ll still need rekordbox for performance mode. We won’t be adding a performance mode. Ever.
rbxport focuses on preparing your library for USB or PRO DJ LINK. If you use rekordbox to control your lights, you’ll still need it for that. Lighting control is outside the scope of this app, and we won’t be adding it.
rbxport helps you prepare your library, not edit the music itself. For edits, mashups, and arrangements, we recommend Ableton Live.
Phrase detection, vocal detection, and stems are features of a paid rekordbox subscription. They won’t be included in rbxport, our free app. If you use those features, you’ll still need rekordbox and the appropriate subscription.
rbxport cannot use rekordbox Cloud Library Sync. We’re not affiliated with or endorsed by AlphaTheta, and we don’t have access to their cloud servers or your paid subscription. Support for rekordbox Cloud Library Sync won’t be coming to rbxport.
